Illustype 034 — Illustype started out as a daily lettering project on Instagram. Bringing it over here has let me truly experience the magic of the Tumblr community. The love and support has been really great and I sincerely appreciate every single comment and like that everyone has contributed here and on Instagram (@jayleif). While I try to keep up with the daily deadline, I realized that I have somewhat outgrown the limiting process to spend more time and effort to refine each illustype before posting them up. Hence, with this “logo” branding the project, I had also decided to drop the “daily” aspect of it. This piece is heavily inspired by Monaux’s awesome work for Pretty Please. Tried my best to replicate as close as possible to pay homage to his brilliant work! I hope one day my lettering and illustration can be as good as his!
